Poem

Wrote this poem in high school. It's not great, and it's a bit too dramatic, but I like it.

End of A Romance

Another torn leaf
Soars from a tree
In a death-crash of grief-
Finally free.

I like it a lot. It says so much in just a few words.

Hey, have a nice weekend!

POP-
Thank you! Hope your weekend is wonderful, too, and hope you had an extra special 20th.

I like it. It's simple and yet it says so much.

We've all been there.

Pax, we haven't all been there, but I did get a tee shirt while I was there :)

Good illustration....
I don't think the world is ready for the dramatic words I worote in high school.

Zelda-
I saved all of my work from my HS poetry class. It's a riot to read. I think it might be time to start the bonfire. I want to ensure that future generations have no opportunity to laugh at my expense...

Likewise, thinking of myself as a writer. I read too much Sylvia Plath probably.

I feel like I'm missing part of a larger story, is everything ok? This poem is grief and liberty wrapped in one...thinking of you and sending happy thoughts.

Virginia Gal-
I'm OK - thank you so much for asking. There is a lot going on in my life right now. Bittersweet would be a good description. The poem was written in all of the angst of 18. I tend to think of it in the fall because of the autumnal imagery.

I think about you daily, and hope things are on a more even keel for you now. Take care!
