Overused

My friend Pax deplores the current tendency to overuse the word awesome. I have a word to add to the overused list: extreme. I'm tired of hearing it used in advertising for new products, and I'm REALLY tired of hearing it used to justify dangerous new (and usually absurd) twists on sports. Just my unsolicited 2 cents on the topic.
Update 1/27: Oops. My friend Pax especially dislikes the overuse of the word amazing.

It's so funny how all these ads have now reconfigured their copy to always say something about how cheap, inexpensve or long lasting their product is when nothing about it has changed at all. Drives me nuts.
