IT'S ABOUT TIME!

CNN is reporting that the US and France have agreed to a draft UN resolution to end the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel. What took them so long? Not enough death and destruction?

Has anybody heard any reports that the US government has called for a cease fire, aside from the pending UN resolution? The last I heard, we were saying something to the effect that we respected Israel's right to defend itself.

Darling, do you really think it will do any good, Hezbollah will more than likely ignore it, lunitics that thay are. And I hate to say it but I can because I'm Jewish, Israel is not much better, if for the only reason, they're always "poking the bear". Don't get me going on the Middle East.

Seems this is sort of a first step towards something but a cease fire appears to be still way down the road. Sadly more people will die while they dick around with this.

Miss Magnolia-
I understand how hard it is for Israel, surrounded by so much hatred and madness. I'm just not sure that this current path is the answer, and I think our government should have been calling for peace from the start.

I think you're right. And the hatred increases with each bomb, gunshot, etc.

I'm disgusted by the international world's lack of action. If the roles were reversed and hundreds of Israeli civilians were being killed and displaced, it would have been stopped immediately. The Arab world is the worst, why are they sitting back doing nothing?!

Virginia Gal-
I don't understand it at all. I can't really agree with either side, though I have sympathy for both sides. I don't see how this can ever be fixed, and that makes me sad.
